Fresno Dynamic Microphone

The first thing I noticed is just how heavy this microphone is. It weighs a tonne. This I did not expect.

The main unit needs to be screwed into the base and then connected to something for me I used the included USB cable to connect in to a PC. It was instantly recognised and I was up and running. To test it I used the free OBS studio and teh free Microsoft Voice Recorder app. The optimal range of the microphone is about 20cm but even sitting at a desk with the microphone 40-50cm away it still pickup my voice although the recorded volume was lower. The recording quality is actually pretty good in my amateur opinion. Way better the recorded sound on my iPhone and of sound also capture on the PC using a PS5 joypad microphone and the mic on a PC web cam. There are touch controls on the mic to adjust the gain level on the fly. Essentially this boasts or reduces the volume of the recorded sound. I was unable to use the other connection method using the XLR plug. A compatible cable if also included for this which is good to see. I cannot fault the build quality and it has a very substantial feel to it. The included instruction manual is very good if helping you setting it up if you have never had an external mc before. It's my first external mic and I am very happy with it. You can definitely hear the difference in the sound it captures.

This microphone is very heavyweight and feels good quality. I got it for my husband who connected it to his Linux computer using USB and says it worked straight away. He recorded himself using this microphone and his usual headset simultaneously and says this microphone is definitely clearer. However, this microphone is less convenient to use than a headset as the instructions say you should be 10-15mm from the microphone but the desktop stand it comes on is far too short to allow this. The quality and volume are noticeably worse if you are further than this distance so I have docked one star for this. It can be connected to a different type of stand so the height can be adjusted, but as the microphone already costs £79.99 we do not want to buy a new stand as well.

it arrived in the branded box shown, on opening i was pleased with the over all quality, its design and build quality is amazing. The microphone boasts a sleek and modern design that fits well in any gaming or studio environment. The build quality is robust, ensuring that the microphone can withstand the rigors of daily use.

Set up was really easy and it was simply plug and play now due to the small stand i have place it on my pc so its a little higher when I'm streaming. My favourite feature is the Touch Panel Controls which is by far one of the standout features of the Fresno Microphone is its intuitive touch panel controls. These allow for quick adjustments and mute functionality, which is essential during live sessions (like when wifey walks in during streaming asking questions) The sound quality is amazing Whether you’re recording vocals, instruments, or in-game commentary, the audio fidelity is top-notch.

over all much better than expected, i have given this to my son who's doing Music so he can use on his MacBook

So far I have mostly used it to record audio for PowerPoint slides. The voice-overs are crystal clear and some people remarked on the audio quality. In terms of design, the Mic is easy to use. It has very few buttons so it is easy to get started. The built quality is good. I like that at such a relatively low price, there is an option to connect to devices using an XLR cable. XLR are purposely built for better sound so compared to USB, XLR delivers better audio quality.
